International students has a long and successful history hosting international students. We support students coming to study on F-1 and J-1 visas. Our rigorous academic program prepares students for enrollment in the most prestigious universities in the United States or abroad. Our Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment courses allow students to earn college credits while in high school. 

Students develop their english language and social skills while becoming part of the school community.  There are opportunities to participate in competitive or recreational sports and over 30 student clubs.Small class sizes allow for one-on-one instruction from faculty, as well as students getting to know one another.

 

The school’s home in Altoona, PA is an ideal location.  It is a small/middle size city conveniently located in a safe, healthy, freindly area within Pennsylvania and close to Penn State University. It is accessible to several major cities including Pittsburgh, PA, Washington, DC, Philadelphia, PA and New York City.  

We welcome students of all backgrounds who desire a comprehensive, high quality, US high school experience.

The school offers a limited number of spaces with host families for international students and welcomes J-1 and F-1 visas. We work through agencies or directly, including with those who have their own host family.

Become a Host Family

Become an Extension of the BG Family!

International students are welcomed into the homes of our local host families who serve as their legal guardian while in Altoona (August through May). We take special care to match students with the best host family to suit their unique needs and personalities.

Many of our host families have their own children at BG which provides for ample opportunities for international students to be involved in the BG community.
