College. Career. Purpose.

Bishop Guilfoyle High School

Bishop Guilfoyle High School prepares students for college, career, and life through academic rigor, Catholic tradition, and personalized opportunity.

At BG, students don’t simply complete requirements — they design a path forward. With advanced coursework, college credit opportunities, career pathways, and leadership experiences, graduates leave prepared, confident, and future-ready.

Academic Excellence

BG offers a comprehensive college-preparatory curriculum that ranges from foundational courses to advanced, college-level offerings across disciplines. As students progress, their schedules become increasingly flexible, allowing them to pursue expanded electives and specialized interests.

Many students graduate having already earned college credits — saving both time and tuition.

College & Career Preparation

Preparation for life after graduation begins early. Students receive structured guidance in:

  • Course planning and academic advising
  • SAT/ACT preparation
  • College research and applications
  • Scholarship planning
  • Career exploration and internships

Our counseling program partners with families to ensure every student has a clear and supported path forward.

Our Goals Career & Technical Pathways

For students interested in hands-on, career-focused learning, BG supports participation in Career & Technical Education programs through the Greater Altoona Career & Technology Center.

Students may pursue specialized training in high-demand fields while continuing their Bishop Guilfoyle academic and extracurricular experience. This pathway allows students to earn industry certifications, gain practical skills, and prepare for immediate workforce entry or continued post-secondary education — all while remaining part of the BG community.

Faith & Formation

Rooted in Catholic tradition, BG fosters a culture of intellectual growth, moral responsibility, and spiritual development.

Students engage in campus ministry, service opportunities, and faith formation while learning in a community that welcomes families of all faith backgrounds. Our mission is to form young men and women who are academically prepared, socially responsible, and spiritually grounded.

Student Experience

The BG experience extends beyond the classroom. Students may participate in:

  • Travel opportunities (domestic and international)
  • Internships and experiential learning
  • Young Entrepreneurs Academy
  • Student leadership programs
  • Athletics, clubs, and campus ministry

Students are encouraged to challenge themselves, explore their interests, and shape a meaningful high school journey.
