Study Abroad
Travel and Study Abroad Opportunities
Students at Bishop Guilfoyle Academy have opportunities to travel throughout the United States and internationally as part of their academic and enrichment experiences.
Each year, select trips are planned in connection with coursework, summer travel programs, and study abroad opportunities where academic credit may be earned. These experiences are designed to broaden perspectives, deepen learning, and encourage personal growth beyond the classroom.
Travel and Study Abroad
Recent student travel experiences have included:
- Austria
- Belize
- China
- France
- Greece
- Hawaii
- Italy
- Ireland
- Puerto Rico
- Spain
- Tanzania
- Baja Peninsula
Participation in travel opportunities is optional. However, exploring new places and cultures helps students build confidence, strengthen friendships, and gain a deeper understanding of the world around them.
Guided, Purposeful Travel
BG travel experiences are thoughtfully planned to ensure students are supported, prepared, and engaged throughout each journey.
-
BG faculty and staff serve as chaperones on all student travel experiences
-
Educational opportunities and coursework are integrated prior to travel to maximize learning and cultural understanding
-
Scholarships may be available to help offset a portion of travel costs
Travel experiences may also be connected to earning distinction through BG’s Global Citizenship Academy, where students engage in coursework and experiences that emphasize global awareness, cultural understanding, and responsible leadership.
(See Program of Study, pages 19 for more information.)
Broad Perspectives
New opportunities arise each year for students to expand their horizons and grow as global citizens. Through travel and cultural experiences, students build connections across cultures and languages while developing the skills and perspective needed to succeed wherever life may take them.
